Feedback
We take feedback very seriously. In fact we would go so far as to say that our customers designed our products as much as we have.
Our products are designed to allow the user to give us feedback from the About window (via this website), and to automatically report errors to us if anything goes wrong.
Rons Place Software are committed to delivering quality software, and feel that our customers should have the best we can offer. However, it is inevitable in complex software that occasionally things do go wrong. In these unfortunate circumstances, we endeavour to fix bugs as quickly as possible and to help this process we have made reporting errors simplicity itself.
Customer Requests
Many of the features currently found in Rons Place Software applications have been inspired by customer requests and ideas. We value all feedback greatly and try to act on it as quickly as we can. However, we do need to keep to our software release cycles, and some ideas are too ambitious to be handled in a timely fashion.
Please: Also bear in mind that some ideas will not fit into an applications design philosophy, and that is ultimately down to us.
Please keep the requests coming!
Reporting Bugs
In the unfortunate circumstances that an error should occur in a Rons Place Software product the window above will be shown. It would be greatly appreciated if the application would be allowed to send the information back to Rons Place Software for analysis and prompt fixing. Filling in the 'E-mail address' and 'Additional info' would be helpful to us, but are not necessary to reporting the error.
We understand that some customers may feel reluctant about allowing an application to send information to a third party, so an exact copy of the error report that would be sent can be viewed by clicking on the 'View Report' link on the left of the window. The customer can then check the report and make an informed decision on whether to send the report or not.
Clicking 'Send' will post the error to Rons Place Software.
How we Handle Bugs
Whilst we take all bugs very seriously, we must prioritize them as follows:
Priority | Type | Details |
1 | Crashing | Bugs that crash the application will be fixed as soon as possible. |
1 | Data loss | Unexpected behavior in the application, leading to data loss or unexpected alteration will be fixed as soon as possible. |
2 | Unexpected behavior | The application does not behave as documented or in an unobvious way. This will be fixed in the next release cycle. |
3 | Spelling and presentation | Visual corrections will be fixed in the next release cycle. |
Note: We prefer to spend our time fixing problems reported to us, so we only contact customers who report bugs if further details are needed.
